Frequently asked questions

Orlando holidays involve a lot of decisions — and a lot of money. These are the questions we get asked most often, answered as honestly as we can. If yours isn’t here, just ask — we’ve probably been asked it before.

About our tickets

Are these official tickets?

Yes. Every ticket we sell comes through authorised supply partners — the same supply chain used by major UK travel agents. We don’t buy from resellers or secondary markets. Unofficial Disney and Universal tickets can and do get refused at the gate — we don’t take that risk.

Do I need to choose Disney, Universal or a bundle first?

If Disney is the heart of your trip, start there. If you know you want Disney and Universal — and most UK families on two weeks do — look at the bundle routes or Ultimate Florida first, because they often give you better value and a cleaner planning picture.

Which option is best for a first Orlando holiday?

For most first-time UK families staying 10–14 nights: Disney is non-negotiable. Universal is very likely worth adding for anyone with children over about 10. A bundle or Ultimate Florida ticket covers both cleanly. For one week: Disney only, and use the remaining days well.

Can I buy tickets for just one park?

Yes. Every park has its own ticket page. You don’t have to buy a bundle — if you only want Disney, buy Disney. Simple.

Is it cheaper to buy through you than direct?

In many cases yes — we work with authorised partners who offer competitive rates. We’ll always show you the price clearly before you commit, so you can compare.

Disney specifics

Do I need to book Disney park reservations separately from tickets?

Disney no longer requires separate park reservations through My Disney Experience — this requirement was removed in 2024. Your ticket is your entry. Link it to the My Disney Experience app and you’re ready to go.

What age are children free at Disney World?

Children aged 2 and under enter Walt Disney World for free. Children aged 3–9 are classed as children for ticket pricing purposes. Adult pricing applies from age 10.

How early should I arrive at the parks?

For Disney, aim to arrive 30–45 minutes before official opening time. Disney allows guests into certain areas and attractions before the advertised open — known as early entry. The first hour of a park day is consistently the quietest time for popular rides. For Universal, early entry is included with certain on-site hotel stays; for other visitors, 15–20 minutes before opening is sufficient.

Can I use Disney tickets on non-consecutive days?

The 14-Day Magic Ticket gives you 14 park days to use within an 18-day window — so they don’t need to be consecutive. You can alternate park days with rest days, beach days or Universal days. The 7-Day ticket is for consecutive days, so this distinction matters when choosing.

What is Lightning Lane and do I need it?

Lightning Lane is Disney’s paid system for reducing wait times at popular rides. It comes in two forms: Lightning Lane Multi Pass (book one ride at a time throughout the day) and Lightning Lane Individual Selection (for the most in-demand individual rides, priced separately). You don’t need it — many families enjoy Disney without it — but it significantly reduces waiting time for popular attractions during busy periods.

What is the My Disney Experience app and do I need it?

My Disney Experience is Disney’s official app. You’ll use it to link your tickets, check real-time wait times, make dining reservations and (if using it) book Lightning Lane. Download it before you travel and link your tickets as soon as you receive them. It’s free and genuinely essential for a well-organised Disney day.

Receiving your tickets

When will I receive my tickets?

Most tickets arrive digitally by email within 24 hours of booking — often much faster. The exact delivery method depends on the ticket type, and we’ll always tell you what to expect before you complete your purchase.

Will I receive printed tickets or digital ones?

Almost all Orlando tickets are now digital. For Disney, you’ll link your tickets to the My Disney Experience app. For Universal, you scan a barcode at the gate. If a ticket requires a different method, we’ll make that clear in advance.

How do I link my Disney tickets to My Disney Experience?

Once you receive your e-ticket confirmation, you’ll find a code or barcode to add to the My Disney Experience app. We’ll include clear instructions with your tickets. It takes about two minutes and you can do it from home before you fly.

Payments and security

How can I pay?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna. All payments are processed securely via Stripe. You can spread the cost using Klarna at checkout — useful for a holiday you’re planning months in advance.

Is checkout secure?

Yes. Checkout is powered by Stripe — one of the world’s most trusted payment processors, used by millions of businesses globally. Your card details are never stored on our servers.

Is Klarna available?

Yes. Klarna is available at checkout, letting you spread the cost of your booking across multiple payments. Useful for planning a big trip months in advance without paying everything at once.

Changes and cancellations

Can I change or cancel my tickets?

It depends on the ticket type. Some are flexible; others are non-refundable once confirmed. We’ll always show you the cancellation terms clearly before you pay — not buried in the small print.

What happens if our travel plans change?

Contact us as soon as possible. The earlier we know, the more options we can explore on your behalf. Don’t wait to see what happens — reach out straight away and we’ll work through it with you.

Practical planning

Do I need travel insurance for Orlando?

We strongly recommend it. A comprehensive travel insurance policy for a Florida trip should cover medical expenses (US healthcare is very expensive), trip cancellation, flight delays and lost luggage as a minimum. Some policies also cover theme park ticket cancellation — check the policy wording carefully before buying.

Do I need travel insurance that covers theme park tickets?

Standard travel insurance policies vary widely in what they cover for non-refundable attraction costs. Read the small print carefully — if theme park cancellation isn’t covered and you have non-refundable tickets, you’re bearing that risk yourself.

About us

Are you based in the UK?

Yes. The Orlando Fun Company is a UK business, built specifically for UK families planning Orlando holidays. We’re not a US-facing site with a UK version bolted on — everything here is designed for how UK families think about and book this trip.

Have you actually been to Orlando?

Every year since 2004. With our own family, our own money. The guidance on this site comes from genuine experience — not a research trip or a press visit.

Can you help me choose the right tickets?

Yes — and we genuinely enjoy it. Tell us your travel dates, how long you’re staying, how old your children are and which parks keep coming up in conversation. We’ll come back with a straight answer. Send us a message →
