Sloth encounterSloths move at their own pace — which in Florida heat means almost no pace at all. They are warm, impossibly soft to touch, and have a permanently startled expression that makes even the most composed family member involuntarily smile. The keeper walks you through sloth biology, conservation status and daily care. Genuinely calming for the entire group.

Capybara encounterThe world’s largest rodent, and somehow one of the most endearing animals on the planet. Capybaras are gentle, calm and remarkably comfortable with human contact. They look like a cross between a guinea pig and a small horse. Children who meet them tend to ask if they can get one as a pet. The answer is no, but the encounter is excellent.

Ring-tailed lemur encounterThe most energetic of the four options. Lemurs are curious, quick-moving and absolutely fascinated by people — they will investigate your clothing, your hair and your camera with complete lack of inhibition. Brilliant for older children and teenagers who want something that feels genuinely wild.

African crested porcupineNot what most people expect to love — but consistently one of the most memorable. African crested porcupines are impressive up close: their quills are extraordinary, and the keeper explains exactly how they use them (and why your encounter is completely safe).
